Fabrizio Romano shares Crysencio Summerville to Chelsea transfer update amid Leeds United exit links

The race is open for clubs to try and sign Leeds United gem Crysencio Summerville despite links with Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist reported in his Daily Briefing (20 May) that nothing is close regarding a summer move for the Dutch winger, but there are several clubs tracking him ahead of a potential transfer push.

Summerville is expected to get a move to a top club come the end of the season and while Chelsea are likely to be one side interested in him, no move is imminent away from Elland Road.

Writing his Daily Briefing column, he said: "Staying with Chelsea, they’re one of the names being linked with Leeds United’s talented young winger Crysencio Summerville.

"The race is open, but with nothing close or imminent right now. There are really many clubs tracking him - I already reported about Liverpool last month, and for sure, Summerville is expected to get a top club chance in the summer, but again, nothing is close now."

While a number of Leeds United players have blown supporters and pundits away this season, few in Daniel Farke's squad have been quite as impressive as Summerville who has set the league alight at Elland Road.

The Dutchman has gone from strength to strength in a Leeds shirt with excellent performances throughout the campaign and it is only natural that teams will be considering a summer switch.

So much could depend on whether or not the Whites win promotion to the Premier League through the playoffs. If Farke's side miss out at the hands of Southampton, they will have to sell a majority of their best players and Summerville will fall into that category.

There is every chance Leeds will still have to part ways with the winger if the right offer arrives at Elland Road this summer even if they win promotion, but they will at least be able to command a huge fee for his services.
