Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool staff sent on transfer mission for Leeds United ace Archie Gray

Liverpool have sent some of their scouts to watch Leeds United ace Archie Gray on multiple occasions, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist reported in his Daily Briefing on Sunday (12 November) that the Reds are one of a number of sides that “appreciate” and are “tracking” the 17-year-old midfielder.

He added that there has been no bid made or any concrete negotiations between the two clubs yet for the “impressive” England U-19 international as the Whites look to keep hold of one of their prize assets.

Concerning

This update from Romano could be pretty concerning for Leeds fans as they will be desperately hoping that his future lies at Elland Road.

But it seems incredibly likely that there is truth in the Italian’s report because he is often on the money when it comes to all things transfers.

It’s no real surprise that Liverpool and other clubs have shown interest in the teenager, though, after he has put in a number of impressive performances since breaking into the first team this season.

Daniel Farke will want to do everything to ensure he remains in West Yorkshire after the midfielder, who has recently been employed at right-back, has played 17 times at the start of this campaign.

The likelihood is that it will come down to whether Gray is tempted by a move to the Premier League club and how much they are willing to pay the Whites to sign him.

In other Leeds United news, a player who snubbed a move to Elland Road has raved about Farke after what he did.
