Fabrizio Romano: Leeds United in talks with agents of Club Brugge attacker Noa Lang

Leeds United are in discussions with the agents of Noa Lang over the transfer of the Club Brugge attacker, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer guru was speaking via his Twitch account on Monday evening [12/07/21] when he was asked for an update on Leeds’ pursuit of the 22-year-old Dutch forward.

“He’s a target, they are talking with his agents but there is no deal agreed or any officials bids yet with Club Brugge,” Romano said.

Heating up?

According to Romano, no bid is on the table for Lang, but it appears that the Whites are stepping up their pursuit of the former Ajax player who has been labelled “incredible” by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig to his 150,000+ followers on Twitter.

Lang has been linked with a move to Elland Road for the last few months after a sensational season with the Belgian league champions, who he scored 17 goals for and registered seven assists during the 2020/21 campaign [WhoScored].

With no offers currently placed for Lang, perhaps the West Yorkshire club are trying to offload some of their existing players before firming up their interest in the Dutchman.

Jack Harrison has arrived on a permanent deal and Junior Firpo joined him days later after signing from Barcelona, but they remain the only significant transfers of the summer so far.

Once again Leeds have shown an enthusiasm for bringing in fresh and exciting talents for their Under-23s side, with the likes of Sean McGurk and Amari Miller signed from Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City respectively.

But it’s early days on the first-team front, and there’s no danger of hitting the panic button just yet.

Marcelo Bielsa likes to get players signed as quickly as possible in order to speed up their acclimatisation, but the likes of Raphinha have proved in the past that the Whites are willing to wait to get their man.

In other Leeds United news, Danny Murphy has suggested that Marcelo Bielsa is wasting the talents of this Whites star.
