Fabrizio Romano: Leeds United days away from signing Kristensen as medical update shared
Leeds United are on the verge of a “full agreement” with Red Bull Salzburg to sign right-back Rasmus Kristensen, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Friday morning (3 June), the Guardian journalist reported that the 24-year-old Denmark international is “expected to join Leeds in the coming days, once final details will be resolved”.
It is understood that the former Ajax right-back will undergo a medical with Leeds after he’s finished on international duty with Denmark.
Denmark have four fixtures in this international break, with their first being against France on 3 June and their final game being against Austria on 13 June.
Deal all but done

He’s been in great form for the Austrian champions in the 2021/22 season, scoring 10 goals and supplying eight assists in his 44 appearances across all competitions.
Kristensen was instrumental in Salzburg reaching the Champions League knock-out stages, where they were ultimately defeated by Bayern Munich, and winning the Austrian Bundesliga title.
The former Ajax right-back is very obviously an attack-minded player when you look at his goalscoring stats as well as his ability to get assists.
Jesse Marsch knows him too, having worked with the Dane in his spell in Salzburg.
Luke Ayling’s undergone surgery and will be out until the autumn while Stuart Dallas is set to miss the rest of 2022.
Cody Drameh is the only right-back among Marsch’s options right now and he lacks experience of playing at top-level football.
Austria’s league isn’t great and Salzburg walk it every year but Kristensen has played for Ajax in the Eredivisie and the Champions League, played for Salzburg in Europe’s elite club competition too and also started to assert himself in the Denmark squad.
We’re sure he’ll be a hit at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has mooted the possibility of a major player-plus-cash deal at Elland Road this summer.
