Fabrizio Romano drops fresh Tyler Adams transfer update as Leeds United exit on cards
Fabrizio Romano believes there is still a “concrete chance” Tyler Adams will leave Leeds United this summer, he told his Here We Go podcast.
Speaking on his podcast (27 July), the reliable transfer insider reports that the USA international midfielder is prioritising a move to the Premier League this summer despite interest from the Bundesliga.
Although Adams is currently dealing with a hamstring injury which is likely to keep him out until after the window closes, Romano believes that a deal is still very much on the cards for him to depart Elland Road.

“The injury doesn’t help of course, but the expectation is that Tyler Adams will make a move this summer, there will be conversations there will be negotiations,” he said.
“There are some clubs interested in the Premier League. I am told that the Premier League is the priority of the player more than the Bundesliga, some Bundesliga clubs tried to explore the move, but the priority is the Premier League and so let’s see on that one, but I think there is a concrete chance for Tyler Adams to leave.”
Ouch
Many Leeds fans seem to be convinced that they’d still have Adams at the club after the transfer window closed considering his injury and the lack of clubs moving for him.
But if Romano is right and he is prioritising a move to the Premier League for this season, then it may just be a case of clubs waiting it out for his injury.

As he gets closer to fitness he would be more likely to pass any medical with a team, and he has a release clause in his contract after our relegation that means we don’t really have any control over when a team triggers it.
It would be a huge blow for the team and the plans of the manager if he were to leave later in the window because it’s going to be incredibly difficult to replace someone with such quality and experience in the Championship.
We just have to wait and see, and hope that any such move doesn’t materialise and that he can stick around until January at the very least to aid our push for promotion to the Premier League.
In other Leeds news, the club are in hot pursuit of this 23-year-old winger who is ready to quit his current side.
