Fabrizio Romano drops fresh Leeds United exit update amid Crysencio Summerville PSG talks

Leeds United and Paris Saint-Germain are not in talks about Crysencio Summerville currently, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing on his Daily Briefing (4 July), the reliable journalist was responding to reports from Telegraaf [2 July] that the French giants want to sign the 22-year-old winger after his fantastic season in the Championship in 2023/24.

But according to Romano talks were very brief and only came about because he shares an agent with another player PSG want to sign, with nothing ongoing between the clubs or Summerville’s agents.

“My understanding is that the situation is: Summerville shares the same agents as Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida,” he wrote.

“PSG are in talks with Geertruida on personal terms, so Summerville was mentioned during talks but there’s still no negotiation ongoing between the clubs or the player’s agents.

“It’s an open race with Brighton and more clubs interested.”

Leeds United still expecting to lose Crysencio Summerville

After selling Archie Gray to Tottenham in a heartbreaking deal, Leeds are in a much stronger position when it comes to the rest of their stars this summer.

The expectation is that Leeds won’t stand in Summerville’s way [Ben Jacobs, 24 June] if they receive an acceptable offer to move him on, but the definition of an acceptable offer has likely changed now.

Romano previously reported that the Whites wanted between £35-40m to let the Dutch star leave but that may now be a bit higher with their financial position stronger.

Crysencio Summerville
Crysencio Summerville has finally left Leeds United, joining West Ham

That means Brighton could be ruled out of the race after splashing £33m on Yankuba Minteh, but other clubs are definitely interested too.

PSG clearly won’t be the club to make the move though and Summerville looks more likely to stay in England whether it be at Elland Road or not.
