Exclusive: Striker Mergim Berisha set to decide on future as Leeds United submit bid
Leeds United target and Fenerbahce striker Mergim Berisha is set to decide which club he wants to join this summer, according to Omar Celikbasli.
The SPOR journalist exclusively told MOT Leeds News that he's also got offers from German clubs and is deciding which club can convince the player over their project and also meet his salary demands.
On July 24, he reported that the Whites had submitted a £1.7million bid to sign the 24-year-old striker.
When asked over the current situation, he said, "There are also offers from Germany for the player. The club that convinces the player about the project and salary will complete the transfer. But he will be making the decision soon."
Not needed
We're surprised why Leeds have not yet pulled out of the race to sign the Fenerbahce striker.
His goal-scoring record is far from remarkable and he's got no Premier League experience - which will mean he'll take time to adapt.
It's not like he has consistently played in Europe's big leagues and a transition is expected to be seamless.
Leeds need to pursue strikers that will walk into with that authority and guarantee 10-15 league goals per season.
If that means smashing their transfer record, then so be it, but they cannot afford to make such bargain bids for players that are arguably not even good enough for their bench.
