Everything we know about Ethan Ampadu’s Leeds United contract: Exit speculation, wages and more
Ethan Ampadu has been a consistent star ever since signing for Leeds United.
The Wales international has raised the levels at Elland Road and has helped to maintain those moving into the Premier League this season.
Daniel Farke has the versatile midfielder to thank for a lot of good in Yorkshire this season, with his 24 appearances contributing heavily to the Whites’ relegation battle.
The LS11 outfit can be confident of avoiding a return to the Championship, but may fear losing their best players in upcoming transfer windows.
Ampadu would certainly be one of those, and now, MOT Leeds News rounds up everything we know about his current deal.
What is Ethan Ampadu’s current contract situation at Leeds?
The Welshman has been a commanding presence in the heart of Leeds this campaign and has been sorely missed when he’s struggled with injury.
That has only come three times, with the ex-Chelsea man starting every available game while playing 2,133 Premier League minutes since promotion.
It would be a surprise if there wasn’t some sort of interest in his signature moving into the summer, especially with his contract ticking down.
Ampadu’s current deal is said to run until June 30 2027, which will represent just 12 months when the campaign ends.

He is on a reported £40,000 per week wage at Elland Road right now, which equates to a yearly salary in the region of £2million.
That could be on the rise in the near future if he signs a new deal or is tracked and signed by another side.

When could Ampadu leave Leeds United?
There will be hopes that Farke and Co. will be shrewd enough to tie the skipper down to a new deal before the summer window opens.
Having such a key player with less than a year remaining on their deal going into a window is a massive risk, and it’s one that shouldn’t be taken.

If they don’t manage to tie him down, there is every chance that Ampadu could leave in the summer or could wait it out and depart on a free in July 2027.
There will be plenty of opportunities for the 25-year-old to find a route out of Elland Road if he wants to take that chance.
On the flip side, Leeds should be quick and table a new deal in the hope of keeping the Welshman in Yorkshire for the foreseeable.
