How long is Jacob Render's contract at Leeds United?
Leeds have been doing work to tie some of their more promising youngsters to the club this week.
On Saturday, it was announced Luke Matykiewicz had committed his future to the club until 2028.
That followed the news that Callum Mills and Loui Whitehead had also penned terms to remain with Leeds.
Render is the latest on the production line to now secure his own future, and he has agreed a one-year pro contract that runs until the summer of 2027.
Leeds have been quick to ensure another talent will be continuing their development in the academy.
What has Jacob Render said about his new contract?
Render paid tribute to the coaches who have been influential in his development so far.
And, speaking to Leeds' official website, the teenager spoke about his immediate aims from the latest news on his future.
“It is an amazing feeling, It is what I have dreamed of since I was a little kid. So, finally completing it feels really good.
“I think I have come on loads working with the different coaches at the club. It has been astronomical help for me.
“I think my main goal is playing as many minutes as I can and then if I stay fit, I will be able to show what I can do.
“Game by game, hopefully I make an impact, get goals and assists. The end goal is the first team. That is what I wanted to do when I was a little kid so that is what I aspire to do.”
What do we know about what Render has done so far?
Render has been involved in several age groups for Leeds.
Last season, he made 17 appearances in all competitions for the academy teams.
Nine of those saw Render feature for Leeds' Under-21 side under the guidance of Scott Gardner.
He has had a couple of experiences in senior fooball, and was a scorer in the 3-0 National League Cup victory over Gateshead.
Render was also a starter against League Two side Accrington Stanley in the Vertu Trophy, and he will hope to continue geting senior opportunities.
What is next for Render at Leeds?
Given he is still only 18, there is plenty of time for Render to continue developing at Leeds.
The long-term objective will, of course, to feature for the Whites' first team.
But for now, it is more a case of exposing him to more U21s football.
It might even be that the more academy football he gets, the opportunity presents itself for him to go out on loan.
