Everton have shown an interest in Leeds United target Largie Ramazani, according to Diario de Almeria.

The Spanish outlet reported on 16 August that the Whites have tried to sign the striker alongside European sides Besiktas and AEK Athens.

The Toffees had shown an interest but never entered into the bidding for the Belgian.

Now journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported (16 August) that negotiations are underway over a new contract for the 23-year-old at Almeria.

Daniel Farke is in great need of some new attacking options from the transfer market after the summer that they've had.

To have already lost Crysencio Summerville from their squad was a blow and now Georginio Rutter looks set to move on with Brighton [Florian Plettenberg].

Considering just how important that duo were at Elland Road last season there is going to be a huge transition moving further into the season.

The campaign hasn't begun in ideal circumstances with a 3-3 draw against Portsmouth and a 3-0 hammering from Middlesbrough in the League Cup.

This isn't going to be helped by Rutter departing especially with the likes of Patrick Bamford in such poor form already.

Someone like Ramazani could prove to be a positive option on a cheaper deal given that his contract expires at the end of the season.

He would come in as an unknown quantity to most but as a squad option, the Whites could go further wrong.
