Evangelos Marinakis not happy with Jota Silva transfer saga as Leeds United want deal
Leeds United have been heavily linked with Nottingham Forest star Jota Silva this summer.
The Whites are still lacking the required firepower for their Premier League campaign, after missing out on Igor Paixao to Marseille.
Leeds managed to beat Everton 1-0 on the opening day through a controversial Lukas Nmecha penalty, but they struggled to convert their chances in the contest.
Daniel Farke still wants attacking reinforcements at Elland Road, and the Forest star was understood to be on the Whites’ shortlist.

Leeds turned down as Evangelos Marinakis displeasure emerges
Evangelos Marinakis is considered to be a controversial owner, and he ensures that he always gets his way when it comes to transfer dealings.
Record has reported in its print edition (20 August, page 10) that Leeds were interested in the 26-year-old, but he wants to return to Portugal with Sporting.
It states that the Liga Portugal side want to loan the former Vitoria Guimaraes star, but the Forest owner is not happy with that proposal.

Jota Silva is a bullet dodged for Leeds
The fact that Jota Silva does not want to move to Leeds should be considered a relief, as he is not the quality that the Whites need.
They need a forward who can contribute regularly, and the two-cap Portugal star is not known for his end product, especially at the top level.
The right-footed attacker can play across the frontline, which would be a positive, but he cannot provide the goalscoring or creating contributions that Farke needs.
- Jota Silva played 31 times in the Premier League last season
- Scored three goals and two assists
- Three contributions in other cup competitions
The LS11 outfit needs an attacker desperately, as Mateo Joseph has been sent on loan to Real Mallorca, and Patrick Bamford is not in the manager’s plans after a poor Championship campaign last time out.
The Whites have brought in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but they need another attacker, as his fitness record is extremely questionable.
However, Silva is not the answer; he has not proven that he can be relied on at the top level, and Leeds need somebody who can do that every week.
The Forest ace is a bit-part player in the Midlands, and he does not warrant a starting role in Yorkshire based on the previous evidence.
