Europa League club able to enter talks with Leeds 23-yr-old, Whites willing to sell – reports

Rangers have turned their attention towards signing Leeds United goalkeeper Kamil Miazek before the transfer window slams shut on Friday night, according to Goal.

Miazek, 23, joined Leeds in 2017 but has failed to make a single senior appearance and has dropped down the goalkeeper pecking order this month due to Elia Caprile’s arrival from Chievo.

Football Insider reported last week that Leeds are willing to listen to offers over a late January deal for Miazek, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

It is understood that Leeds do have the option to extend the Polish shot-stopper’s contract by an extra year but Caprile’s arrival means that might not happen.

Goal now claims that Steven Gerrard is eyeing up the 23-year-old goalkeeper.

Europa League side Rangers reportedly wanted to sign Legia Warsaw shot-stopper Radoslaw Majecki, but he is now set to join Monaco in the summer.

As a result, Miazek has now emerged on the radar of the Scottish Premiership giants, who are able to open talks with him due to his contract situation at Elland Road.

Miazek might as well be offloaded by Leeds this month.

He is 23-years-old, out of contract in the summer and the fact that Kiko Casilla, Illan Meslier and Elia Caprile are all ahead of him in the pecking order, there’s no point in him sticking around at Thorp Arch any longer.

In other Leeds United news, another centre-forward arrival could be on the cards at Leeds despite what Marcelo Bielsa has said.
