Emmanuel Latte Lath transfer: Leeds United serious after £15m update

Leeds United are serious about bidding for Emmanuel Latte Lath in the winter transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.

The news outlet reports (8 January) that the Whites aim to leap in front of Ipswich, Leicester and West Ham United to acquire the Middlesbrough striker’s services.

Middlesbrough are willing to sanction the 26-year-old’s sale if their demands are met.

Boro want a fee in the region of £15million as Daniel Farke works closely with chairman Paraag Marathe to buy reinforcements before the 3 February deadline.

Leeds United pursuit of Emmanuel Latte Lath transfer encouraging

It must be encouraging for the Elland Road faithful to see their team be proactive in January as they aim for Premier League promotion.

The West Yorkshire club are one of the favourites to get back into the English top flight, but injuries have the potential to derail their aspirations.

Over the last few months, Farke has had to deal with multiple fitness issues in his squad, although the Whites have seemingly emerged unscathed.

Ethan Ampadu has returned to provide Leeds with more options at the back as the German manager looks to solidify his defence.

The striking department could use more bodies, with Patrick Bamford arguably on his way out of Elland Road and Joe Gelhardt on the brink of a potential exit as well.

Farke has had to rely on Joel Piroe to consistently find the back of the net this season, with Mateo Joseph finding life difficult at the Whites.

The 49ers have done well since taking over the West Yorkshire outfit but will evidently need to support the 48-year-old head coach to boost promotion hopes.

Latte Lath could provide the necessary firepower needed for the second half of the campaign.
