Elche wants three other Leeds United players as well as Kiko Casilla
Elche are close to signing Kiko Casilla on a season-long loan but also want to land three other Leeds United players, according to AS.
The Spanish news outlet claims Elche have an agreement to sign the 34-year-old goalkeeper this summer “but negotiations are still at a standstill” over the other three.
There are some conflicting reports about the type of deal Elche have agreed with Leeds regarding Casilla but AS claim it could be a loan-to-buy arrangement.
Is Casilla going for good?
AS claims the two clubs are working on an agreement that would see Casilla’s contract terminated and if not, he would head to Elche on a season-long loan with the view to the deal being made permanent next year.
It seems as though it’s been agreed that Casilla will head to Elche this summer – we just don’t know how he’s going to join them.
Victor Orta has reportedly played a role in Casilla’s return to Spain as the Leeds director of football has a good relationship with Elche’s manager Fran Escribá.
And it seems that relationship will continue to be used by Elche as they aim to sign three other players from Leeds.
It remains to be seen who those players are but Elche are a La Liga club and any loan move there for younger players at Thorp Arch would be a great experience.
We’ll have to keep an eye on Elche next season if that happens.
They narrowly avoided relegation from La Liga last term but if a relationship could be struck that sees our younger players go there to get vital senior experience, it could be very beneficial.
