Eintracht Frankfurt to open talks with Leeds United star Robin Koch for permanent transfer in coming days
Eintracht Frankfurt will open talks with Leeds United loanee Robin Koch in the coming days about a permanent transfer, according to BILD.
Writing on their website (2 January), the German news outlet report that the club are prepared to offer the defender a three-year deal worth around £52,000 per-week.
The expectation is that Koch is willing to join after making a big impact since arriving on loan, with his Leeds contract due to expire in the summer.

“Last July, Robin Koch (27) came from Premier League relegated Leeds United on a one-year loan. After just a short time it was clear: the eight-time international player was a real hit!” they wrote.
“In the coming days, the Eintracht bosses want to sit down with the defender to talk about a permanent position. The club has only been able to officially negotiate with Koch, whose contract with Leeds expires in the summer, since the beginning of the year.
“Anything other than a clear commitment to unity would be a huge surprise.
“The plan: Koch should sign a three-year contract until 2027 in January. So far, the EM candidate has earned around 3.5 million a year. But it is worth every euro.”
Expected
When Koch left the club on loan with just a year remaining on his Elland Road contract, nobody was expecting him to come back to the club after it.
His performances in the Bundesliga won’t be a surprise to anyone who watched him at Leeds before because he was comfortably our best centre-back during his time here.

It’s a shame that the club isn’t in a position to earn a fee for him considering his value is likely to be pretty high, but it’s a sign of the poor ownership before the 49ers took over that is still lingering.
Koch won’t be at Leeds next season and wherever he goes he will likely play well, but fans at Elland Road won’t be wishing him well after he ditched us as quickly as he could when we got relegated.
The fans won’t want anyone to be here that doesn’t want to be here, so it seems like the perfect time for the club and player to part ways now.
In other Leeds news, Whites want to sign another Bournemouth forward on loan according to reports.
