Eintracht Frankfurt plan second Leeds United raid in new Fabrizio Romano update

Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in signing Rasmus Kristensen from Leeds United, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer journalist reported via his personal X account [16 July] that Kristensen is one of the names on the Bundesliga club’s shortlist following his loan spell away from Elland Road.

The 27-year-old full-back spent last season out on loan with AS Roma after Leeds were relegated from the Premier League, where he made 31 appearances in all competitions.

Frankfurt have already signed Robin Koch from Leeds this summer on a permanent basis following a spell on loan last time out.

Leeds United receive transfer interest in Rasmus Kristensen

Kristensen is one of the multiple loan players expected to leave Elland Road this summer, having jumped ship after the Whites failed to keep their place in England’s top division last season.

The defender has only made 32 appearances for Leeds since joining from RB Salzburg in the summer of 2022, joining the likes of Marc Roca, Diego Llorente and Maximilian Wober in finding a loan club.

He joined on a £10million deal from the Austrian club, as per Sky Sports – a fee that Leeds are unlikely to retain after remaining in the Championship last term.

Unlike Kristensen and Roca, the duo of Brenden Aaronson and Wober are set to rejoin Daniel Farke’s squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, and although right-back looks to be an issue this summer, Kristensen could still leave.

The departures of Archie Gray and Jamie Shackleton have left Leeds very light in the right-back department, with only Sam Byram able to cover the opposite side.

Despite this, the Danish full-back could be joining up with his former teammate and former Leeds defender Koch in Germany – another player who was loaned out after the club’s relegation.

There is currently a lot of deadwood in Farke’s squad, but with Roca and Llorente already exiting Elland Road, the Whites are slowly clearing out the squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
