Eintracht Frankfurt make Rasmus Kristensen transfer call as Leeds United exit looms
Eintracht Frankfurt want to trigger the buy option in their loan deal for Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Sky Sports Germany journalist reported via X on Monday (7 October) that the Euro club’s bosses have already decided that they want to bring the Danish international to the Bundesliga on a permanent basis.
Eintracht’s agreement with the Whites included a permanent option believed to be in the region of £8.4million and £10million and the Bundesliga club wants to activate that clause to end Kristensen’s time as a Leeds player.
Has Rasmus Kristensen left Leeds United after Eintracht Frankfurt transfer?
It hasn’t taken too long this season, but it appears as though Kristensen’s ties with Leeds United are getting closer and closer to being cut on a permanent basis.
It has been clear for some time that the right-back isn’t a part of Daniel Farke’s long-term plans at Elland Road as he was allowed to exit on loan this summer when there was a lack of defensive depth in the German’s squad.
Prior to the signing of Jayden Bogle, the Whites were basically reliant on Sam Byram following Archie Gray’s exit and even then, Farke was willing to allow Kristensen to walk away from the Championship with little concern.
It can’t be a bad thing if the Whites manage to get yet another wage off of their books permanently. Agreeing this sale so early in the season could also prove to be a massive boost when it comes to complying with financial fair play.
Hopefully, an agreement can be reached quickly so that any money earned is ready and available to be spent when the January window rolls around.
