'Dynamite', 'Step up from Dan James' - Many fans thrilled by player display with Leeds move near

Leeds United fans were left blown away by Raphinha’s performance for Rennes on Sunday in what could be his final appearance for the Ligue 1 club.

Raphinha, 23, scored a wonderful goal in the first half and assisted another from a corner as Rennes drew 2-2 with Reims

According to The Sun, the Brazilian winger is set to jet into the UK on Monday in order to complete a deadline day move to Elland Road worth up to £21million with add-ons.

Leeds fans had the chance to watch Raphinha in action on Sunday as Rennes’ Ligue 1 clash against Reims.

According to SportItalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, one of the conditions of Leeds’ deal to sign Raphinha was that he was allowed to play in that match.

And we’re glad he did and was able to get through it unscathed because we all got a glimpse of how good the former Sporting CP winger can be for us.

For his goal, Raphinha drove forward on the ball, played a lovely one-two on the edge of the penalty area and then tucked his shot away with aplomb.

Damien Da Silva scored for Rennes several minutes later, netting after a dangerous cross into the box by Raphinha from a corner-kick.

We’re not at all shocked to see the reaction of Leeds supporters who watched the match, with one saying that Raphinha “looks unreal”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have offered over £13million for this central midfielder.
