Done deal: Leeds United medical for Kristensen on Wednesday – Fabrizio Romano

Rasmus Kristensen will undergo a medical with Leeds United on Wednesday (8 June) ahead of joining permanently from Red Bull Salzburg, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer guru, who writes for The Guardian, reported via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday night (7 June) that it’s a “done deal” for Leeds to sign the 24-year-old right-back.

It is understood that with a “full agreement” in place with Salzburg, Kristensen will have his medical on Wednesday and the transfer is set to be announced.

It looks as though it’s just a matter of time before Leeds officially announce their second signing of the summer.

Both deals have been raids on Jesse Marsch’s former club Red Bull Salzburg and this deal for Kristensen sees the Leeds manager reunited with the Denmark international in West Yorkshire.

Kristensen is an attack-minded full-back who should slot perfectly into the team at Elland Road with Leeds crying out for new full-back additions for ages.

Long-term injury issues for Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas mean that signing a new right-back was a must and now, we’d also love to see the Whites go out and strengthen the left-hand side of their defence.

Junior Firpo was brought in last year after Ezgjan Alioski left and the former Barcelona man has failed to impress on the whole.

He did play really well in the safety-clinching, last-day win over Brentford in the Premier League but we haven’t seen that enough from him.

We need a back-up for Firpo, a new back-up goalkeeper, a new striker and considerable additions to the centre of the midfield.

And if Raphinha goes, he’ll need to be replaced too.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been told to bomb this big-money player out of Elland Road by terminating his contract.
