Djed Spence medical timeline emerges at Leeds United as fee agreed with Tottenham – Fabrizio Romano

Tottenham right-back Djed Spence is set to travel today, Tuesday 29 August, to complete his medical with Leeds United, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist took to his personal Twitter page (29 August) to offer supporters an update on the 23-year-old’s loan switch to Elland Road.

Spence is preparing to travel to Leeds to complete the move, which will see the West Yorkshire club pay Tottenham £1million.

There will be no option to make the transfer permanent should the full-back be a hit at Leeds, as no buy option has been included in the deal.

Game changer

This is an incredibly exciting signing for the club that could prove to be a key move in their race to return to the Premier League. Spence has recent experience of success in the Championship, having helped Nottingham Forest achieve promotion via the play-offs during the 2021/22 season.

He was a big part of the team’s triumph that year and was devastating in England’s second tier. Although things haven’t quite worked out for him since his move to North London, he is certainly a player full of quality and could be a hit at Elland Road under Daniel Farke.

Leeds United

Experience is key in the Championship and having a player who has tasted promotion, as well as a manager who is a specialist in it, could pay dividends come the end of the season. The fact that Spence is already preparing to head to West Yorkshire demonstrates the desire on all sides to make the deal happen.

In other Leeds United news, a double-signing could be on the cards at Elland Road.
