Leeds United loanee Diego Llorente has a high chance of remaining at Roma beyond the end of his loan spell which expires at the end of this season, according to FootballNews24.

The Italian football news outlet reported on 12 February that Roma will undergo a clearout of their defence in the summer, but Llorente could be one of the survivors.

Rasmus Kristensen is also on loan at Roma from Elland Road, but no comment is made on his future beyond stating the fact he is on loan, suggesting no progress has been made towards a permanent deal.

Another Leeds United departure

Following their relegation from the Premier League, there was somewhat of an exodus from Elland Road, with several key players leaving the club due to loan clauses in their contracts.

With the approach of the end of the season, those loan players are now left with decisions to make on whether to make a controversial return to their parent club or look for a permanent move away.

The likes of Robin Koch, Marc Roca and Brenden Aaronson, all left in the summer, with Koch having already sealed a permanent move, Roca looking likely to depending on the way the season pans out, but Aaronson looking more likely to return.

Leeds United loanee Rasmus Kristensen may not remain at Roma beyond this season.

Whether the two Roma loanees follow the path of Koch and Roca or Aaronson is yet to be seen, although Llorente is wanted at the Italian club, but the repercussions of the summer exodus are finally starting to show.

Leeds, overall, appear to have benefited from their departures - getting rid of baggage and players that didn't want to be part of the promotion fight in favour of those that were willing to stay alongside new arrivals.
