Diego Llorente set for Leeds United return as £9m Serie A contract news emerges
Diego Llorente is set to return to Leeds United after Roma decided against taking up the £15.6million in his loan agreement, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed an impressive loan spell at the Serie A club but with Evan Ndicka set to sign, fresh doubt has been cast over Llorente’s future.
Corriere dello Sport report on Thursday 18 May that Ndicka is set to sign a five-year deal, worth a total of £9million. It’s understood the 23-year-old Frenchman will take the place of Llorente in the Italian capital.

Part to play
Llorente could well have a part to play for Leeds. The Spaniard has grown into his loan spell with Roma and has shown a significant improvement on what he was serving up whilst in a Leeds United shirt.
There’s clearly a talented player in there somewhere and offering him a new deal could well have been a smart piece of business. With Villarreal reportedly interested, there’s a good chance Leeds could land their valuation. However, at present, it’s extremely difficult to talk about ongoing transfer activity at Elland Road.

It’s an unlikely scenario, but Leeds could be relegated this weekend if results don’t go their way. When the board know exactly what league they will be in next season, then planning can start on the transfer front.
With the club’s value set to plummet in the Championship, Andrea Radrizzani could be inclined to try and secure an instant return to the Premier League to ensure his current agreement with the 49ers remains intact.
In other Leeds United news, a manager the Whites wanted this season has spoken out about the experience and admitted he wants a chance in the Premier League.
