Diego Llorente is perfect as Leeds United transfer wanted within days

Leeds United centre-back Diego Llorente is in high demand with Real Betis now branding the player “perfect” as they look to improve their defence, according to AS.

In their printed edition on June 27 (page 24), the newspaper stated that with key players missing and pre-season around the corner, Betis view Llorente, who spent the last campaign on loan at Roma, as an important addition to their squad.

Leeds, who narrowly missed out on Premier League promotion, need to decide quickly as Betis want the deal done within days.

The tricky part is that Roma have the option to buy Llorente for around £4million, making the situation slightly more complicated for the Whites.

Is a move to Betis right for the Leeds United defender?

Llorente’s potential move to Betis has been making headlines, and it’s easy to see why this transfer could be beneficial for all parties involved.

With Betis needing to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season, Llorente’s experience in La Liga makes him a perfect fit.

Despite his current ties to Leeds and a season-long loan at Roma, Betis see Llorente as the ideal candidate to fill their defensive gaps.

For Llorente, joining Betis would mean returning to a familiar league where his style of play is better suited.

His stint at Roma has shown what the 30-year-old is capable of, but the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League and his hefty wages suggest a permanent move away is the best solution.

Betis offer him the chance to play regularly, something he’s never achieved at Elland Road.

If Roma decide not to exercise their purchase option, Betis could swoop in and secure a decent addition to their squad.
