Diego Llorente asks Roma to break Leeds United loan, he wants to join PSG

Diego Llorente’s agents have asked Roma to break his loan agreement with Leeds United so he can join Paris Saint-Germain, according to Santi Aouna.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (13 January), the reliable journalist reports that the player wants to move to the French capital and Roma are willing to let him leave early this month.

However they want to find a low-cost replacement first before they sanction the deal, with Leeds happy to send him to Paris Saint-Germain according to the article on FootMercato.

“Diego Llorente’s agents asked Roma if it was possible to break the defender’s loan,” he wrote.

“Roma is not against it but first wants to find a low-cost replacement. Diego Llorente wants to join PSG.”

Whatever you want

As far as Leeds are concerned, Llorente can do whatever he wants because he is not part of the future of this club.

Llorente left the club in January 2023, before relegation, proving that there was no commitment from him and the club weren’t banking on him being part of the squad.

Things haven’t changed since then and the reason he was allowed to leave on loan again in the summer is because a buy-option got introduced into the equation.

If Paris Saint-Germain want to take over that loan deal on the same terms then it makes no difference to the 49ers and Leeds, so long as the club isn’t left short-changed in the end of it all.

Llorente to PSG would be a surprising transfer for sure, but he knows the manager there and Roma are clearly willing to let him go, so this is one that is likely to take place before the deadline at the end of the month.
