Denis Vavro’s agent confirms transfer interest as Leeds United learn valuation
Leeds United are one of the teams looking to sign VfL Wolfsburg centre-back Denis Vavro in the winter transfer window.
The Whites are interested in the Slovakia international, who’s in demand right now.
While Daniel Farke wants a new forward at Leeds, reinforcing the backline in January is also on their agenda.
Union Berlin centre-back Danilho Doekhi is a target at Elland Road, but the West Yorkshire outfit clearly have other options on their radar.
Denis Vavro to cost £6m amid Leeds United interest
Wolfsburg value Vavro between £4.3million and £6m, with clubs from Italy, Spain, Germany and England looking at him, Martin Petras says.
The centre-back’s agent believes a move in January is not easy, with the 29-year-old looking for regular minutes after missing the start of the season due to injury.
However, things could change in the coming weeks if the Slovakia international doesn’t get consistent opportunities, with the World Cup play-offs on the horizon.
Speaking to TVNOVINY.sk on 6 January, Petras said, “I have heard reports that AS Roma and Fiorentina are interested in him. I have also read about Leeds and Wolverhampton. I can confirm that clubs are asking about him — both from Italy and Spain, from the English Premier League, but also other teams from the German Bundesliga.”
The defender’s agent added, “€5m to €7m. That’s roughly how Wolfsburg values him. Denis is definitely worth this money; he proved it with statistics.”
Joe Rodon is expected to return from injury at Elland Road soon, and it remains to be seen whether the West Yorkshire outfit will make a move for Vavro.

Elland Road exit for defender ruled out after what’s happened
Leeds may have no intention to loan out Sebastiaan Bornauw after his impressive performances in recent matches.
The Belgium international has had to bide his time at the Whites, with Farke preferring other options in defence.
| Player | Appearances |
| Joe Rodon | 18 |
| Pascal Struijk | 18 |
| Jaka Bijol | 12 |
| Sebastiaan Bornauw | 5 |
With the German manager opting to play five defenders and with Rodon unavailable, Bornauw has finally gotten his opportunities and made the most of them at Elland Road.
As things stand, it doesn’t look like the West Yorkshire outfit need to add more depth at centre-back, making their interest in Vavro possibly inconsequential.
