David Moyes decides on signing Jack Harrison from Leeds

Leeds United and Everton are two clubs who will certainly be making wholesale changes to their respective squads ahead of next season’s Premier League.

The duo are in different circumstances, with Everton looking to use their new ownership and stadium to build in their new era and challenge for Europe.

Leeds must consolidate themselves and supporters are so far uncertain of who the manager will be at Elland Road come kick-off of the 2025-26 campaign.

David Moyes wants to retain Jack Harrison at Everton

Moyes returned to Everton last January, having competed in Europe in four of the 11 seasons he previously spent at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are under pressure to invest this summer, but are likely to take advantage of any free or cheap deals they can get their hands on, too.

With Leeds shuffling their own pack, it is likely many could leave Elland Road on a permanent basis, Jack Harrison being one.

According to Mark Douglas (30 April), Moyes likes what he has seen from Harrison on loan on Merseyside since his arrival, with the winger having spent the past two seasons away from West Yorkshire.

Douglas, via i News, listed Harrison among a list of players likely to leave, however said: “Moyes likes Harrison’s attitude though and seems open to him staying.”

The 28-year-old has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Blues this season, while Daniel Farke himself has been blessed with forward options in his Leeds squad.

Leeds United may not fit Harrison into their plans

Leeds have likely moved on from Harrison, who produced excellent service at Elland Road in the past, but times have moved on.

Two years away on loan has become less common through the years, and it feels as if Harrison has been away from the Whites for a long time.

So much has happened since, and Harrison is now at the career crossroads where he will gather interest, but needs to be in a team he regularly starts in.

At Leeds, it is arguable he does not get in front of Dan James or possibly even Willy Gnonto; Manor Solomon’s long-term future remains unclear following this season’s loan.

Harrison is an adept player to have in Moyes’ squad, however, with his 300-plus appearances and keen eye for a goal or an assist if the style of play suits him.
