Daniel Farke wants Tottenham ace as Leeds United transfer plan mapped out

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is already eying up signings ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

The Whites are second in the Championship on 69 points and have a game in hand over Sheffield United with just 14 fixtures remaining.

With that being said, the Elland Road faithful are growing confident of securing a place in the Premier League by the end of the campaign.

As a result, Farke and Co. are already deciding on plans for the summer window to help build a squad ready for the top tier.

Leeds United want to sign Ben Davies from Tottenham

The LS11 club have done well this season to utilise their squad and has shown very little weakness throughout the season so far.

Despite this, defensive opinions could prove to be a necessary addition during in the summer with a view to surviving in the Premier League.

TEAMtalk has reported (16 February) that Farke wants a new centre-back at Leeds as his side begins to plan ahead of the upcoming window.

Tottenham defender Ben Davies is one ace who is admired by the Whites due to his versatility as a central defender and as a left-back. This could prove to be important in the future as an exit for Junior Firpo is potentially on the cards.

The 31-year-old’s contract is set to expire in North London at the end of the season which could allow the Yorkshire outfit to swoop in before signing him on a free contract.

Ben Davies would represent positive business for Leeds United

The Wales international won’t represent a glamourous signing at Elland Road but could be exactly what they need moving up a division.

As it stands there is very little positive Premier League experience in Farke’s squad which could prove to be an issue.

Bringing in Davies could prove to be a wise move given his 347 appearances for Tottenham since signing from Swansea City in 2014.

It would certainly be interesting to see whether the versatile defender would accept a move to Elland Road without the prospect of first-team football which could spell the end for Firpo amid plenty of uncertainty around his future.

On a free transfer, with the versatility and dressing room nous he can add to the Leeds squad, the Welshman could prove to be an excellent addition.
