Daniel Farke wants to sign Josh Sargent at Leeds United as Norwich City transfer news emerges

Leeds United want to sign Josh Sargent from Norwich if they win promotion to the Premier League, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The newspaper reported via their print edition on 19 May (page 70) that Daniel Farke is keen on the 24-year-old USA forward, who scored 16 foals in 26 Championship appearances for the Canaries this season.

It is understood that Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham are also in pursuit of the former Werder Bremen attacker.

Who are Leeds United going to sign in the summer transfer window?

Leeds’ summer activity is almost entirely going to depend on whether or not they win at Wembley against Southampton next weekend.

The Whites will be slight favourites for the game, especially after the way they dispatched Norwich at Elland Road on Thursday, and if they do go up, you’d imagine there’ll be plenty of activity with incoming for Farke.

Sargent is an interesting one because in the Premier League with Norwich, he scored just two goals in 26 games. However, he’s developed a lot since then and his goalscoring blitz in the Championship suggests he could be ready for a step up to the top flight.

At the start of the season, Ashley Barnes told the Pink Un newspaper that the American is a “phenomenal talent”.

Farke no doubt has connections at Carrow Road from his time as the Norwich manager so this is a deal we could well see happen if the Whites beat Southampton and secure their spot back in the big time.

We’re bound to see a lot of players leave Elland Road, especially in the attacking areas. Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt are two who we could easily see moving on.
