Daniel Farke told he can unleash Man United gem at Leeds who Roy Keane finds ‘unbelievable’

Leeds United have invested a lot in the squad to stay in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke received backing from Leeds’ owners in the summer, with no fewer than ten signings made in the summer – albeit fans would have liked another attacker or two.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor were all on the scoresheet against Wolves, as some of the new signings delivered.

Farke will be hoping the likes of Calver-Lewin can continue to shine for his side as Leeds look to maintain their Premier League status.

Leeds may dip into the market in January, and there is one name who has been tipped to be available and would improve the team greatly.

Kobbie Mainoo would be a real ‘plus point’ for Leeds

Kobbie Mainoo was linked to a move to Leeds in the summer window, but a transfer never materialised.

The England midfielder is currently out of favour at Manchester United and may be available yet again in January.

Former United striker Teddy Sheringham has spoken about Mainoo and says Leeds should be the exact team that should be targeting him.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Post on 26 September, former player and now pundit Sheringham said: “He just needs to get someone who loves the way he plays.

“This game is all about opinions, and just because Amorim doesn’t fancy him, it doesn’t mean to say Farke won’t get the best out of him.”

Sheringham also spoke about the environment at Elland Road, which could be the exact type that gets the best out of Mainoo.

“Put an arm around him and tell him how good he is, team him up with someone in midfield who accommodates him and all of a sudden, you’ve got a player back on your hands,” he said.

“If Leeds could get someone like that on loan, it would definitely be a plus point.”

Mainoo has been highly thought of for a while, with former United skipper Roy Keane previously hailing him as “unbelievable” and stating that he has “loved watching him”.

Kobbie Mainoo could take Leeds to the next level

Leeds are not often linked to a player of Mainoo’s calibre, so if the opportunity is available, they should take it.

The 20-year-old’s technical ability and guile in the middle of the park would be the creative spark that Leeds need.

Paired next to somebody like Stach, Mainoo could be unleashed in West Yorkshire and live up to his full potential.

Farke would no doubt be delighted to have somebody who started the Euro 2024 final available to him.

Leeds fans will hope Mainoo’s exodus from the Manchester United first team continues so they can snap him up in January.

Transfers between the hated rivals are extremely rare, but if a quality midfield option becomes available on loan, Leeds must grab it with both hands.
