Daniel Farke shares new Leeds United stance on Joe Rodon permanent transfer at Elland Road
Daniel Farke has revealed that signing Joe Rodon on a permanent deal is not an “urgent topic” for Leeds United in the January transfer window.
The Whites manager was speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday (19 January), with the Athletic journalist Phil Hay reporting that the German “strongly hinted” that the club will be looking to make the Welsh international’s transfer a permanent one ahead of the summer.
The 26-year-old centre-back has been in fine form at Elland Road, having joined on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Tottenham in August.
No rush
It’s understandable that Leeds aren’t rushing to secure Rodon on a permanent basis just yet as their focus is on bringing other players through the door.
They already have the defender signed up until the end of the season, so they can revisit that topic once the transfer window comes to an end.
The fee Tottenham are seeking, however, could go up if the Whites secure promotion back to the Premier League, so it’s something they will probably want to get sorted before the summer comes around.

The Welshman has featured 25 times for the club this season after nailing down a starting spot alongside Pascal Struijk in the heart of the defence.
Farke will be hoping he can continue to play an important role in his side in the second half of the campaign as they look to secure an immediate return back to the top flight.
