Daniel Farke makes demand as Isaac Schmidt agrees Leeds exit
Leeds only signed Isaac Schmidt last year, but are now preparing to sanction his exit.
Schmidt was a bit-part figure last season as he appeared just 14 times, with the right-back falling down the pecking order.
Leeds have signed several defenders this summer, and could now sanction exits across the squad as they look to make upgrades following their promotion to the Premier League.
Schmidt is now the subject of interest from the Bundesliga, but Daniel Farke has made one demand ahead of his potential exit.

Farke wants a replacement before allowing Schmidt to leave
Schmidt is wanted by Werder Bremen, and could now depart Elland Road on a loan deal, but not before a replacement is signed.
German journalist Patrick Berger (July 28) has now reported that Bremen have agreed a deal in principle to sign Schmidt on loan, but an agreement on an obligation or option to buy has not been reached yet, with negotiations ongoing.

Despite Schmidt’s lack of game time last season, Farke does not want to leave his squad short and will only sanction Schmidt’s exit if a replacement can be signed.
This will mean Leeds enter the market for a right-back, who can provide cover for Jayden Bogle, and this will allow Schmidt to depart the club.

Bogle was impressive last season, but he will need quality cover as he cannot play every single game next season, and Sam Byram should only be regarded as an emergency backup.
Farke could look to sign a right-back with Premier League experience, and the free agent market could be a good way to find this cover without breaking the bank.
Schmidt failed to impress in his time at Leeds and did not make a single start in the Championship last season.
Byram started in the two games Bogle missed, but the 31-year-old cannot be relied upon for more than an occasional appearance, and an injury to Bogle would be disastrous unless extra cover is found.
Leeds face a tough start to their Premier League campaign and will hope that Bogle can pick up where he left off after a standout season in the Championship.
