Daniel Farke keen to re-sign Jaidon Anthony for Leeds United as loan bid accepted
Leeds United are set to miss out on re-signing Jaidon Anthony this season after Bournemouth reportedly accepted a bid from Burnley for the player, according to the Daily Mirror.
On page 49 of its print edition [27 August], David Anderson has reported that Daniel Farke was keen on reclaiming Anthony for his squad, but has lost out to Scott Parker’s side who will take the winger on loan.
This comes after Burnley are also on the verge of completing a deal for Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri – another Leeds target [Daily Mirror, 22 August].
Leeds United lose Jaidon Anthony race
Leeds United have suffered a double dose with the hunt for Anthony seemingly coming to a conclusion.
They have not only lost out on a player who Farke evidently holds in high esteem and who made 38 appearances for the club last season, but moreover to a Championship promotion rival.
On the plus side, Anthony’s proposed move to Turf Moor accelerates the market, and could in turn see Leeds secure Burnley’s Manuel Benson on loan [TEAMtalk, 20 August] amid strong divisional competition.

Largie Ramazani has been signed and sealed; Manor Solomon is expected to complete a season-long loan switch [David Ornstein, 26 August] to Elland Road on Tuesday, and Farke and his team are far from finished.
Prior to Solomon’s imminent arrival, Leeds have just 20 first-team players in their squad and must prioritise purchases.
