Daniel Farke could send Leeds United duo out on loan again for 2024/25 season
Daniel Farke could send Darko Gyabi and Sam Greenwood back out on loan for the 2024/25 season if they fail to impress for Leeds United in pre-season, according to Leeds-Live.
Writing on their website (19 June), the news outlet reports that exits are expected at Elland Road this summer and several players who spent last season on loan could leave.
Diego Llorente, Max Wober and Marc Roca are all expected to depart permanently, but Gyabi and Greenwood are likely to be part of the squad during pre-season where Farke will then make a decision on their role for the upcoming campaign.
Leeds United need better midfield options for Daniel Farke
The most recent season saw Farke have limited midfield options throughout the campaign, with Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara emerging as the first-choice pair after Ethan Ampadu moved to centre-back and Archie Gray was fielded at right-back.
Pascal Struijk is likely to return to being first-choice centre-back next season though which should allow Ampadu back into midfield, while Gray returned to his natural role towards the end of the campaign as Farke looked to improve performances.
With Gyabi and Greenwood returning to the club they have a chance to stake their claim for a place in the side, but realistically they haven’t improved enough over the last 12 months to be able to make a big impact.

Farke is in the market for new midfielders too if reports are to be believed, so the chances of the duo being part of the setup seems slim.
Another loan away, or potentially even a permanent exit to boost the club’s budget seems far more likely and makes more sense at this stage too.
