‘Dan James agrees terms’ as major Leeds news breaks

Dan James has agreed to fresh terms to extend his stay at Leeds United.

The Wales international has spent four of the last five seasons with the Whites, playing a key role in the Championship in the last two.

As a result, moving into the Premier League, the 27-year-old is destined to have a telling impact on any successes under Daniel Farke moving forward.

The prospect of this has been dealt a boost at Elland Road with the winger looking set to put pen to paper on a new deal.

James agrees to new contract at Leeds United

The LS11 club have such a wealth of attacking talent, but the former Manchester United man has still managed to stand out.

This even saw the wide man take over a first-team role ahead of Wilfried Gnonto, who was so highly rated throughout Leeds’ spell in the Premier League.

With that being said, losing the Welshman on a cheap deal as his contract ticks down to its final year was beginning to represent a sizable risk in Yorkshire.

As a result, it will be music to the Elland Road faithful to learn that their side have been proactive in tying James down to a new deal.

This comes after Mike McGrath reported on 2 July that Leeds have been given a “huge boost” as the forward has agreed to a new long-term deal with the Whites.

The former Swansea City star is said to be firmly in Farke’s plans as a fresh contract looks set to be announced in LS11 ahead of the new season.

Farke to be delighted with James deal at Leeds

It can’t be overstated how important it can prove to be to maintain the core of the squad that earned promotion when moving up a division.

Although the likes of Sebastiaan Bornauw and Jaka Bijol have come in, keeping the side together will be the best method of avoiding relegation against the odds.

This will see a deal for James represent one of the better deals that Leeds can do this summer, one which has been done nice and early to avoid any future issues.
