Crystal Palace want to sign Wilfried Gnonto in Leeds United transfer news
Crystal Palace want to sign Leeds United ace Wilfried Gnonto as a replacement for Michael Olise this summer, according to HITC.
The online source reported [26 June] that, with their star winger set to join Bayern Munich, Palace are in the Championship market for a like-for-like replacement, targeting Gnonto or Sunderland’s Jack Clarke.
Although the Italian’s future at Elland Road is up in the air, Daniel Farke’s side will not sell Gnonto below their valuation of the player, having demanded £30million from Everton last summer [BBC Sport].
It is understood that the Whites have re-opened contract talks with the 23-year-old but no deal has come to fruition as Leeds prepare for another season in the Championship.
Crystal Palace looking to raid Leeds United for Michael Olise replacement
With 10 goals and six assists in 19 Premier League appearances last term, it will be an extremely difficult task for the Eagles to replace Olise should he depart for Bayern this summer.
The interest is hardly surprising, almost registering a goal-contribution-per-game since returning from injury at Selhurst Park, and they should be able to afford Gnonto if Olise’s sale goes through.
Gnonto has also just experienced a brilliant season in the Championship, notching eight goals and two assists after making a surprising return to the team, and so too has Crysencio Summerville who has also been linked with a move to Selhurst Park.
The young winger seemed to have fallen out with the manager at Elland Road, having handed in a transfer request last summer before refusing to play a few games into the campaign.

However, once he had apologised, Gnonto quickly became an important cog in Leeds’ attack, replacing Dan James on the right flank towards the end of the season, despite the Welshman having a career-best season.
Losing Gnonto would be a huge blow for the Whites this summer, as would the likes of Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray.
But with the club condemned to a second season in the Championship, the big-profile players are bound to start receiving interest from Premier League and European clubs in the summer transfer market.
