Crysencio Summerville transfer verdict emerges at Leeds United after Liverpool links
Sami Mokbel has insisted Liverpool will target “higher level” players than Crysencio Summerville after the Leeds United star was linked with a move to Anfield this summer.
The Daily Mail journalist explained that Liverpool would be targeting more experienced players in his position as they look to compete in the Champions League next season.
It was, however, said that after a successful season in the Championship, the winger is showing he has the attributes required to play for a top-six Premier League team.
Speaking on the JDS Podcast [1 May], Mokbel explained: “I saw him a few times last season while watching Leeds and I think he’s got a lot of attributes to be a success at a top-six level club, he’s very quick and skilful.
“There is definitely potential there. In terms of clubs the size of Liverpool, we mustn’t forget that they are back in the Champions League and they will have to put their recruitment policy on a higher level.
“Summerville, having spent the year in the Championship, to then go into a Champions League side would be a tall order. I’d imagine if Liverpool are looking for wide forwards, they will have other irons in the fire.”
Liverpool update on Crysencio Summerville emerges at Leeds United
With Leeds now looking unlikely to reach automatic promotion this season, they will have to reach promotion via the playoffs if they want to stand a chance of keeping hold of their star players amid interest from elsewhere.
Summerville’s performances while in the Championship have done enough to catch the attention of the likes of Liverpool, even if they don’t make an official move for him, standing out as one of the best in the division.
It has previously been suggested that the club could offer him a bumper new deal to stay at the club this summer amid interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, although there is no guarantee he would agree to extend his deal.

Given the financial situation at Elland Road, player sales have been keeping the club clear of any financial fair play breaches, hinting that further sales this summer could be a necessary step to take, with Summerville likely top of the list.
