Crysencio Summerville exit update as Leeds United agree Archie Gray transfer
Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville has nothing close concerning an exit from Elland Road, according to Graham Smyth.
The journalist took to X and stated that Archie Gray’s move to Tottenham shows the “dark side” of the Profit and Sustainability rules.
Gray hadn’t shown any desire to leave the West Yorkshire outfit but because he’s classed as “pure profit” in the accounting records, his sale does more for the Whites.
What does the sale of Archie Gray mean for the future of Crysencio Summerville?
Since Leeds failed to gain promotion to the Premier League last season, Summerville has been consistently linked with a move away from the club [Ben Jacobs, 24 June].
The Championship’s Player of the Season has been linked with a plethora of clubs throughout the summer window, with Brighton one possibility.
Although the sale of Gray wasn’t the outcome Leeds likely desired, due to their need to sell an asset to abide by PSR, it had to be done.
The youngster is now on the cusp of agreeing on a deal with Tottenham, an agreement between the two clubs makes the most sense.

Especially since Joe Rodon is reportedly on his way to Elland Road in a deal worth around £10million [Beren Cross, 1 July].
As for Summerville, his future is still up in the air but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the attacker also depart the club at some point during summer.
However, thanks to the £40m raised by Gray, the West Yorkshire outfit will likely want to demand a higher fee for their star.
In other Leeds news, a European club have made a £5m+ bid for a Whites defender.
