Joel Piroe has now completed a move from Leeds United to West Ham United.

The Suriname international has long been linked with a departure from Elland Road.

It's been clear since promotion back to the Premier League that Daniel Farke doesn't back him in the top flight.

Despite winning Championship golden boot, he wasn't afforded a true chance last campaign.

That has opened the door for the Hammers to swoop in and sign the striker.

The question is now about how a deal is structured as varied reports now surround Piroe.

How much will Leeds United get for Joel Piroe?

There aren't many objections to selling the 27-year-old from the LS11 faithful, truth be told.

After just two Premier League starts and no goals, it didn't make much sense to keep him around.

The issue with a potential sale has always been the fact that the Whites supposedly wanted £16million to sanction a move.

That halted many potential exits, but Farke and Co. changed their approach to make a West Ham move happen.

Initial reports suggested that Piroe would be moving to the London Stadium on loan with an obligation to buy for £15m.

That has now been contrasted by Ben Jacobs who reported on Wednesday that the deal is actually worth £12m.

He says that the conditional obligation will be triggered if the Irons are promoted and that the mentioned total also includes a loan fee.

That is certainly different to other reports out there and suggests that Leeds have lowered their demands considerably.

How Piroe covers James Trafford transfer

The Whites have have moved this past week to bring in some much-needed revenue.

Joe Gelhardt has also moved on as these two sales have joined Pascal Struijk after his move to Brighton earlier in the summer.

This move for Piroe seems strange for just £12m, especially after holding out for £16m previously.

The positive note is that even the lower fee helps to cover the amortisation of James Trafford for over a year.

His cost is spread out over the course of his contract and Valuball has that figure at £9.6m per year.

Piroe's eventual permanent move will help the Whites cover that, so is certainly a sacrifice worth making.
