Cody Drameh to make decision on Leeds United future after Championship playoffs – Fabrizio Romano
Cody Drameh will make a decision on his long-term future at Leeds United after the Championship playoffs with Luton, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Drameh has spent the second half of the season out on loan with Luton Town, helping them into a position where they will likely be competing in the playoffs for a place in the Premier League next season.
But after reports that the 21-year-old’s exit from Elland Road was “inevitable” this summer, Romano says a decision hasn’t been made yet and won’t be until after Luton’s season comes to an end.
“Luton Town are heading towards the playoffs, Cody Drameh has a year left on his deal at Leeds — they could be open to sell a player that can agree a free transfer in January,” he wrote (14 April).
“He is likely to make a decision on his future right after the playoffs.”
Drameh drama
Drameh should have been in the Leeds first-team squad for the last two seasons, but instead he’s been shining in the division below for two different teams while we’ve struggled.
Luke Ayling hasn’t been good enough for a while now and his supposed replacement Rasmus Kristensen hasn’t ripped up any trees since joining last summer.

But now Leeds have likely lost their chance to have Drameh as he wants to be first-choice wherever he goes, and that simply isn’t going to happen at Elland Road if everyone is being honest.
It’s a really big missed opportunity for the club, but now the player himself has his future in his own hands and he’s likely to use that power to go elsewhere.
It’ll be interesting to see what fee the club can get from him, whether he stays at Luton or goes to another club, and what we decide to do with the position for next season.
In other Leeds news, the club have held talks with the agent of this “incredible” winger.
