Cody Drameh Leeds United exit to be confirmed as medical to take place on Tuesday
Leeds United full-back Cody Drameh is set for a move to Hull City with a medical scheduled on Tuesday (23 July), according to Barry Cooper.
The Hull Daily Mail journalist posted on X (23 July) with an update that the 22-year-old right-back is due at Hull’s training ground with a free transfer from Elland Road expected to be confirmed.
Drameh will make the move having come to the end of his United contract on 30 June, but the Whites confirmed that they’d offered him a new contract when they released their retained list [7 June].
However, despite Drameh moving to the MKM Stadium minus a transfer fee, United’s contract offer to a player who spent last season on loan at Birmingham City means Hull will have to pay a compensation fee.
Cody Drameh seals inevitable Leeds United exit
Having made just one appearance for the Whites before being shipped off on loan to Birmingham in the final year of his Elland Road contract, the writing on the wall has been there for a while in Drameh’s case.
The offering of a new contract hinted at the possibility of a return to the club, but given Drameh has made next to no impact in his four years at the club, his rejection in favour of a move makes sense [Leeds-Live, 2 July].
Drameh did excel on loan at Luton Town in their play-off-winning campaign in 2023, and as he heads to another side looking for promotion, he could have a similar effect on the Hull City side.
That will of course put him in direct contention with his soon-to-be former United team-mates at times next season, and while his exit has been by no means acrimonious, he’ll certainly be hoping to show Daniel Farke what he’s missing out on.
