Cody Drameh heads for early-summer exit from Leeds United amid Burnley and Luton transfer news
Cody Drameh is close to having his future resolved with Burnley and Luton Town both interested in the Leeds United defender, as reported by Football League World on 7 June.
After spending half a season on loan with Cardiff City during 2021/22, the 21-year-old was sent out on loan by Leeds United once again in January for the remainder of the 2022/23 season, this time to Luton Town, where he earned promotion to the Premier League with his side via the play-offs.
He made 19 appearances for Rob Edwards’ side, registering two assists as the Hatters finished third before eventually sealing their first-ever Premier League appearance with a Wembley play-off final win over Coventry on penalties.

Now, Luton are interested in making his loan a permanent switch but will face competition from Championship winners Burnley who are also interested, as Drameh enters the final 12 months of his contract with Leeds.
It is reported that Leeds could also make Drameh a part of their plans as long as they can make first-team assurances to the right-back. Whatever happens, the deal is likely to be sorted soon, with all parties involved wanting a quick decision.
Where next for Drameh?
Drameh finds himself in a unique situation where his parent club has been relegated while the club he has spent the season on loan with, has been promoted.
All clubs involved will want the situation resolved quickly so that they can make plans for next season, or perhaps identify a new target at right-back if they don’t land Drameh.

Having settled in well with Luton and experienced the thrill of promotion with the club, it is most likely that the young player will want to make his switch permanent in order to continue his journey with Edwards’ side into the Premier League.
Burnely is also a tempting option as they too can offer Premier League football while Leeds will have to make some big guarantees in order to now keep hold of a player they have loaned out for two consecutive seasons.
With a quick decision reportedly expected, fans shouldn’t be waiting too much longer for clarity on the situation either way.
