Cody Drameh can make Cardiff City debut v Blackburn with Leeds United loan exit close
Cody Drameh will be available to make his debut for Cardiff City on Saturday when they play Blackburn with his loan exit from Leeds United close, according to Glen Williams.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday, the WalesOnline journalist reported that Drameh, 20, will have a medical with the Bluebirds today (Wednesday) after travelling to the Welsh capital last night.
Drameh is joining Cardiff on loan for the rest of the season despite Leeds’ injury crisis and the fact the ex-Fulham youngster had to play against West Ham in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Drameh is by no means a key player at Elland Road but he had to play for us on Sunday because of injuries.
Junior Firpo went off injured in the second half of the defeat at West Ham, leading to Drameh entering the fray.
The ex-Fulham youngster has played every now and then for Leeds this season, even starting a Premier League match.
Luke Ayling has to play at centre-back every now and then while Stuart Dallas is probably going to be needed at left-back if Firpo’s injured and Jamie Shackleton is out until next month.
Drameh is someone who we need at least on our bench over the course of the rest of the month, so the timing of this deal is very odd.
Hopefully, the London-born ace will be a regular starter for Cardiff because in the long-term, this is a move that is beneficial for both Drameh and for Leeds.
But in the short-term, it doesn’t benefit the Whites at all and they should have told Cardiff that they can have him on deadline day.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are readying a move to sign a central midfielder who Andrea Radrizzani once raved about.
