Chelsea want to strike Archie Gray deal with Leeds United after Brentford bid rejected

Chelsea remain interested in Leeds United gem Archie Gray, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

As reported by the news outlet online (30 June), Brentford have seen their £40million offer for the 18-year-old rejected.

Gray travelled for a medical with the Bees on Saturday night (29 June), but the following morning it emerged that the Whites had rejected the bid for their player.

Chelsea, as well as the Blues’ London rivals Tottenham, both remain interested in the midfielder after this latest development.

Where will Leeds United starlet Archie Gray end up come September?

This is not what Leeds supporters would have expected to wake up to.

It looked as if a deal with Brentford was in place and Gray appeared to be set to join the Premier League club ahead of next season.

However, that has fallen apart for the meantime, which means speculation over the player’s future will now once again run rampant.

While this development doesn’t necessarily mean Gray will remain at Elland Road next season, fans will still be happy with how the Whites are handling this situation.

They are demonstrating that they will not be pushed over and will not accept an offer for their 18-year-old gem unless it is on their terms.

Every supporter would love for Gray to stick around and become a Leeds legend. However, there is a seeming sense of inevitability that the player will move on.

But if he is to move on, then Leeds will be keen to ensure it is on their terms and their terms only.
