Chelsea ready move to sign Tyler Adams from Leeds United amid £100m development at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea are now assessing a bid to sign Leeds United star Tyler Adams amid frustration in their efforts to sign Moises Caicedo, according to The Athletic.
The news outlet reported on Wednesday (2 August) that although Caicedo is Chelsea’s top midfield transfer target, they are “deadlocked in talks” with Brighton due to their £100million valuation of the Ecuadorian.
It is understood that Todd Boehly-backed Chelsea are now “considering the possibility” of making a move for Adams, who has a £20million release clause active in his contract at Elland Road due to Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.

Powerless
If Chelsea come in and offer a fee of £20million for Adams, he’ll be gone.
Even if he cannot get into Chelsea’s first-team squad, he’ll no doubt be keen to move back to the Premier League to join a club that’s oozing with cash and desperate to make amends after the disaster of last season.
American billionaire Boehly owns Chelsea and we’ve seen here at Leeds that Adams can be swayed by an American ownership, too.

He’ll no doubt take the pay rise to move to Stamford Bridge and due to his release clause, Leeds will be powerless to resist any offers that matches it.
It’s a shame because Adams was probably our second-best player last season after Rodrigo.
He was the only signing Jesse Marsch made that looked decent and he didn’t deserve the lengthy injury issue he had, nor the resulting relegation that happened while he was sidelined.
