Chelsea make approach to sign Tyler Adams as £20m Leeds United news emerges, contact made
Chelsea have approached Tyler Adams’ camp with an enquiry about the Leeds United midfielder, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian transfer guru reported on his Daily Briefing on Sunday (6 August) that Chelsea have asked “to be informed of the conditions for a potential deal” for the 24-year-old USA captain.
It is understood that Adams is one of a number of midfielders who they’re considering a deal for before the summer transfer window closes because a £20million release clause has become active in his contract since Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.

Powerless
If Chelsea come in with a £20million offer, Leeds cannot do anything about it.
Adams will be gone.
There’s no way he’ll turn down the chance to return to the Premier League to join a team that will be gunning for silverware this season.
He was one of Leeds’ best players last season and maybe if he wasn’t injured for such a long spell, we would have stayed up in the Premier League.

However, we don’t think he’s Chelsea quality.
In the same way Manchester City signed Kalvin Phillips, we feel that Chelsea would probably be just signing Adams for the sake of it because it’ll be a fairly easy deal.
He’s not good enough to start for them every week with the aims they have but if he’s happy to be a bench player in a Premier League team, that’s fair enough.
He didn’t quit the Bundesliga and European football to play away at Plymouth.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now readying themselves for this winger to leave for a US-owned team.
