Chelsea could sign Tyler Adams before clash v Liverpool as Leeds United exit news emerges
Tyler Adams could leave Leeds United for a Premier League return to Chelsea before the Blues’ opening clash against Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper published online (6 August) that the London club are readying a bid to activate the American’s £20million release clause which became active upon Leeds’ relegation last season.
Adams is keen on a move away from the Championship and favours a move to Stamford Bridge amid interest from West Ham and Aston Villa.

Inevitable
Adams’ departure felt inevitable as soon as relegation was confirmed, but the deal could be quickly completed if Chelsea are keen to get him through the door before their opening Premier League match next Sunday (13 August).
Leeds themselves get their Championship season underway this Sunday (6 August) against Cardiff City in a match which could be the 24-year-old’s last as an Elland Road player.
Adams joins the growing list of Leeds stars who have departed the club following relegation, including Rodrigo, Max Wober and Marc Roca as Daniel Farke’s rebuild continues.

With Adams preferring a move to Chelsea over other top-flight clubs, he will want the deal to get done quickly if he wants to have a chance of making his debut for the Blues on their opening day.
Leeds fans will be disappointed to see Adams leave for such a low fee, but as soon as his relegation release clause emerged it was only a matter of time before Premier League clubs made their interest concrete.
Chelsea has undergone a mass shift in player personnel with 14 first-team players departing so far this summer including regular starters Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic, so Adams will have a good chance of getting regular minutes under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

While a disappointing departure for Leeds fans, the Elland Road faithful must look ahead towards promotion back to the top of English football under Farke.
In other Leeds United news, it has been revealed if the Whites’ latest signing will start against Cardiff City.
