Championship club frustrated as late Leeds agreement fails to materialise
Leeds United were unable to complete any signings of their own on deadline day.
There was hope that Daniel Farke could bring another fresh face to Elland Road before the window slammed shut at 7pm on Monday.
That wasn’t the case as Leeds missed out on Jorgen Strand Larsen when his £48million move to Crystal Palace was confirmed.
Strand Larsen was Leeds’ main target all day, but they remain happy with the current state of their squad, ready for the second half of the season.
That can’t be said for every club, with Ipswich Town left annoyed with their failure to get Joel Piroe out of Yorkshire.

Ipswich Town wanted Joel Piroe in January
Piroe looked destined to leave Leeds this winter after a general lack of minutes throughout this campaign in the Premier League, as showcased by Sofascore.
The Dutchman represents a useful squad option, but he couldn’t be blamed if he looked to depart in search of more regular minutes.

A move to Rangers appeared to be on the cards, but it is Ipswich who have been left exasperated by their failure to sign the 26-year-old.
Darren Witcoop reported on Monday that the Tractor Boys have been left frustrated after multiple bids to sign a forward in January didn’t work.
A move for Piroe didn’t materialise away from Elland Road, while Kieran McKenna also missed out on Femi Azeez and Sam Surridge in January.
Leeds had to keep Piroe after Jorgen Strand Larsen miss
If Strand Larsen had come in, the whole picture would have changed in this Leeds squad.
The Norwegian would have demanded immediate minutes in Yorkshire, so would have likely started alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
A deal wasn’t on the cards for the Wolves man on deadline day, so keeping hold of Piroe had to take priority.
The Dutchman remains a squad option in LS11, and losing him would have been a blow, especially if an alternative option didn’t come in, which it didn’t.
Farke’s side got this one right in the end, even if it has left Ipswich Town hugely frustrated.
