Celtic seem to have deleted Leo Hjelde page on official website amid Leeds United speculation
Celtic seem to have deleted the player profile of Leo Hjelde from their official club website with the young defender reportedly close to joining Leeds United.
According to the Scottish Sun, the Whites are set to complete the signing of the 17-year-old Norway youth international in the coming days after a “significant” transfer fee was agreed with Celtic.
It is understood that Hjelde has agreed personal terms on a long-term contract at Elland Road – and Celtic may have hinted the deal is all but done.

If you go to view Hjelde’s page on the Scottish club’s official website, you can briefly view it for a split second but then it suddenly changes to a page that says: “404 error. Sorry, it looks like the page you are looking for isn’t available right now.”
Other players’ pages are working.

Deal all but done
Celtic are not messing around if they have deleted Hjelde’s page.
Of course, it could just be an issue with their website but Hjelde’s move to Elland Road is reportedly imminent and it could be due to that.
The Norwegian defender, who can play as a left-back and a centre-back, will be joining up with Mark Jackson’s Under-23s for next season but we think he could also be of use for Marcelo Bielsa in the senior squad.
Bielsa likes to have a fluid relationship between his first-team and the Under-23s, who all play in a similar manner and are all expected to train at the same standards as the senior players.

There is no room for players who do not apply themselves at Thorp Arch but Hjelde, despite his tender age, has shown he has the makings of a quality player in the future.
Not only is he versatile but he also has senior experience to his name already having spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish Premiership club Ross County.
While playing for the Staggies, he was dubbed as the next Virgil van Dijk by John Hughes, who managed him last season.
It’s high praise and hopefully we do end up seeing the young Norwegian starlet meet expectations in the future.
