Cameron Archer stance shared as Leeds United eye last-gasp transfer
Cameron Archer has “other options” on the table as Leeds United look to strike a deal for the Southampton striker before deadline day, according to Nizaar Kinsella.
The journalist reported via the BBC Sport website (30 January) that the former Aston Villa man’s stance is that he is looking for somewhere he’d have a “guaranteed starting role” after struggling for regular game time under Ivan Juric.
The report also adds that while Leeds’ interest is genuine, it still remains “unclear” whether a deal can be made.
The Whites are aiming to complete a deadline-busting deal before the window shuts on Monday and TEAMtalk reported that a new bid is being prepared having seen a loan offer rejected.
Cameron Archer would guarantee Leeds United promotion
Leeds have been linked with a plethora of players since the winter transfer window opened but Archer’s name is one that should excite fans.
While he hasn’t been in the best goal-scoring form this season, last term and in his previous Championship spells, the Englishman was more than capable of being an important player in the second tier.
One main problem within the Whites’ ranks this term has been the lack of consistency shown by their strikers.
At the moment, they have three potential options to lead their attacking line and to be quite frank, it feels like none of them are ideal.

Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe have been Daniel Farke’s preferred options but with Archer among their ranks, the duo would no doubt be dropped and Leeds would likely be far better off.
Nothing is yet set in stone of course but as the West Yorkshire outfit have made a bid, we could see the former Villa talisman spending the second half of the season at Elland Road.
