Calvin Ramsay set to join Liverpool after Leeds United approach
Leeds United considered a move for Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay before switching focus to Red Bull Salzburg’s Rasmus Kristensen, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on 3 June (page 55) that the Whites are set to sign Kristensen, 24, for £8.5million once he agrees personal terms and passes a medical.
However, it is understood that Leeds did look at Aberdeen’s 18-year-old right-back Ramsay first. But The Mirror claims that he’s set to join Liverpool.

The Daily Mail added on 2 June that Leeds had approached Aberdeen with an enquiry about Ramsay before turning their attention towards Kristensen.
No sweat
Leeds have missed out on Ramsay but we’re a lot happier with Kristensen.
Both of them are good right-backs and while Ramsay is on the up as he’s just 18-years-old, there have to be doubts about whether he’s ready to start regularly in Premier League games.
Ramsay would be a back-up for Luke Ayling and Leeds already have a young right-back in their side in Cody Drameh.
Kristensen, meanwhile, is the finished product and is likely to force Ayling down the pecking order at Elland Road.
He’s an experienced Denmark international who’s won plenty of silverware at Red Bull Salzburg and has played a lot in the Champions League too.

The ex-Ajax ace is an attack-minded right-back who’s scored plenty of goals and supplied numerous assists in the Austrian Bundesliga so we cannot wait to see what kind of mayhem he unleashes on Premier League defenders in the 2022/23 season.
If Ramsay does join Liverpool then we wish him all the best.
He’ll be the second-choice right-back behind Trent Alexander-Arnold, who he’ll learn a lot from and might one day launch a challenge for the starting spot.
But we’re more than happy with Kristensen and don’t see this as a blow at all.
